Meet the Pastor’s Wife - Mindy O’Connor
Hi, I'm Mindy, and I’m grateful to serve alongside my pastor husband in our small but quickly growing church family of about 250 people. Our church is not just a place of worship, but a community where we share both our joys and sorrows. I'm honored to be a part of it. Hospitality, whether through opening our home, sharing a meal, or sitting down for coffee, is one of my simple joys. I love meeting new women from all backgrounds and encouraging them in their own faith journey. I often remind them that we probably have more in common than they might realize. I did not become a pastor’s wife until later in life, having lost my first husband of twenty-six years to cancer.
Writing has always been my favorite way to connect with God through prayer journaling. I also love sharing stories of God’s incredible love and provision through each season of life. After many years of journaling, I recently wrote and published a book called “Face Time with God.” Outside of writing, I enjoy “thrifting” for bargains, decorating, and creating little magical moments for my granddaughters, often using simple treasures found while thrifting. Besides the bargains to be found in thrift stores, I find treasures in the people I bump into while shopping. It’s not uncommon to see me on the floor near the book or in the toy section, listening to someone’s story and offering to pray for them. My own personal story includes both loss and new beginnings.
In a somewhat miraculous way, God brought Kevin O'Connor into my life at age forty-eight. (My knight in shining armor). We just celebrated our twentieth wedding anniversary! My journey has helped shape my heart to walk alongside others during their own personal hardships, as well as celebrate with them their joys in life.
