Guest Speaker Bio:

Born in Peru and immigrating to the United States at the age of 10, Ginger Murillo spent 19 years in Long Island, New York. At 27, she gave her life to Christ through a life group invitation from her sister. Shortly after, she was baptized during a retreat with Nueva Vida Iglesia del Nazareno. From that moment on, she became actively involved in ministry, serving as Youth Ministry President, delegate, worship team member, and children’s Sunday school teacher.

In 2010, Ginger married JJ and moved to Oklahoma, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Southern Nazarene University. During their time there, she served at Western Oaks Church of the Nazarene as a Spanish ministry leader alongside JJ, supporting youth ministry, the worship team, and leading Spanish retreat workshops.

God later called them to Louisiana, where they planted Koinonia Church in Kenner, which grew from three members to 130 by 2019 and was officially organized as a church in 2018. During this time, Ginger focused on developing leaders through the “Master Plan” discipleship model. In addition to church planting, Ginger and JJ were also called to help bring a Nazarene church in Louisiana out of crisis—this being their first experience leading an Anglo congregation. Ginger also served as part of the Spanish retreats workshop speaking team, working alongside the district Spanish ministry coordinator.

In 2020, Ginger received her first District License and entered the ordination track in the Church of the Nazarene. She was ordained in June 2025.

Ginger currently serves as Associate Pastor and Spanish Ministry Pastor at Arlington Avenue Church of the Nazarene in Riverside, California. She also serves as the District Women’s Ministry Director, where she is passionate about fostering spiritual growth, connection, and leadership among women across the district. In addition to her ministry roles, she is a JK Spanish teacher at Redlands Christian School.

Ginger and JJ are blessed with three children, ages 13, 11, and 7. Alongside her calling as a pastor and leader, she deeply values her role as a mother. She enjoys quiet moments of rest and discovering new places with her family.

Ginger remains committed to faithfully following God’s calling in this season of ministry, continuing to invest in discipleship, worship, and leadership development.
